Hunting Packages
Western Spirit Ranches delivers a premier upland bird hunting experience — whether you're bringing your top clients, rewarding a high-performing team, celebrating with family, or heading out solo. We provide the land, the birds, the habitat, and the facilities to host 1 to 35 hunters per day, with licensed guides, championship-caliber dogs, and full bird cleaning and packaging handled for you.
Group Hunts
From bachelor parties to birthday milestones, Father's Day traditions to family reunions, group hunts at WSR are built around the moments that matter most. Groups of 2–5 hunters are welcome to bring their own dogs or book one of our professional guides and trained pointers — whichever suits your party best.
WSR also proudly welcomes youth hunters and actively encourages the next generation to experience the heritage of the sport. Anyone who can obtain an Idaho hunting or shooting preserve license is welcome on our preserves.
WSR's guides are licensed under our Idaho Outfitters and Guides permit, First Aid Certified, and trained as expert upland bird hunters and dog handlers. Safety, professionalism, and your success in the field are their top priorities. Groups of up to five hunters are paired with a guide managing up to three dogs per hunt.

Solo Hunts
Prefer the solitude of hunting on your own terms? Solo hunts are available for a half day, with or without a guide & dogs, giving you the freedom to experience WSR at your own pace.

Bird Plant Quantities
Birds are planted approximately one hour before your scheduled hunt. While our preserve naturally holds hundreds of wild birds from prior seasons, we plant additional birds before every hunt to ensure your party has a successful, rewarding day.

About Western Spirit Ranches
Founded in 1999, Western Spirit Ranches is an Idaho State Fish & Game licensed upland bird shooting preserve located west of Shoshone, Idaho. Our Little Wood preserve offers an exceptional mix of wild birds alongside thousands of stocked pheasants across expansive, high-quality habitat.
We operate August 15th through April 15th and are one of the few upland game preserves in Idaho offering licensed outfitting and guided hunts for solo hunters, groups, and corporate parties alike. Hunters are not restricted to state bag limits and may legally harvest both male and hen birds.
Home-cooked catered meals are available in our lodge upon request. RV parking is on-site, and we're happy to provide local lodging recommendations for overnight guests.
